· This year retailers cannot afford to delay in quitting slow selling ‘risk’ product early – all retailers have some form of action plan to maintain customer traffic – all will be heavily discounting.
The message, don’t let your quit programme be absorbed within general discounting – do something extraordinary to quit stock early.
· Leaving it to post Christmas, you will be buried by your competitors.
Moving into 2010 cash will be king – get prepared now, no emotional attachment to product, be ruthless cutting across buyer resistance when necessary.
