OK Australia is not the UK but how many Australian retail CEO’s are prepared to be this honest?

Marks & Spencer chairman and chief executive Sir Stuart Rose has warned:

'There are absolutely no green shoots. I have not seen them and we all need to soldier on.'
He added: 'The recession came fast, it came deep, it came globally.
It will favour those who are strong, nimble and bold.
It will punish those who are weak and feeble’

Current sales trends for many Australian retailers are not even keeping up with inflation or annual rent increases in many Australian Shopping Centres.
