International Supply Credit Insurance loosening – but only for some!

UK and European retailers are starting to get some relief from tight credit restrictions in time for Christmas 2009.

Richard Lim, economist at the BRC, said: “There has been a slight easing in conditions, a small improvement, but what we have really seen is that retailers are still having massive difficulties - a lot of retailers are saying that it’s still a major problem for them.”

Although Australian and New Zealand retailers, importers and wholesalers are somewhat cushioned from import credit issues we believe some are struggling to get LC’s approved.

·         We would like to hear from retailers and importers experiencing Letter of Credit difficulties – if necessary we will raise the issue with the relevant Minister.
