CD Sales Down, Digital Sales Up; No Surprise

The fact that CD singles are dying with CD sales falling and with digital sales rising the high 20% is no surprise.

·         Smart entertainment retailers are delivering digital music via Digital Kiosks, soon to deliver DVD’s rent and or buy.

The only issue for Australian and New Zealand entertainment retailers is the double dip scam being tried by music labels and movie studios on the retailers – we think this is dumb.

Instead of labels and studios making it difficult they should be actively encouraging Australian and New Zealand entertainment retailers to sell digital in-store; if not expect more store closures.
